Nashville & the Carter Brothers

Hi, We spent a great day in Chattanooga. Took a ride on the Southern Belle Riverboat down the Tenn. river. Arrived in Nashville on Tuesday and walked around the Opry Mills Mall and the Opryland Hotel. Unbelievable. It has 3 huge Atrium, with beautiful gardens, cascades and a riverboat. We went to the Grand Ole Opry and saw about 15 performers. The only one we knew was Montgomery Gentry but we had a great time. One guy named Little Jimmie Dickens started performing at the Opry in 1938 and at the age of 88, he is still singing, making jokes and having a great time.
Visited the Carter Brothers at their home in Ridgetop. They built a recording studio attached to their home last year and we were lucky to sit in on a jam session with two guys and the boys. They are all performing together at a music festival tomorrow in Wartrace, TN. It was great seeing the guys. Timmy and Danny played Chronicle for me! They will be at the Hog's Breathe starting monday. Sorry I missed you Ross. Going into old Nashville today. Take care. Love Gail

Out of Florida

Hi, Tonight we are staying at a KOA in Calhoun, GA in the foothills of the Appalachian Mts., north of Atlanta. After leaving Key West we drove to Punda Gorda to get the RV ready for the trip. On friday we visited our friends KA and Sally in Mt. Dora, just north of Orlando. KA has been up there for a few months taking great care of her mother. She hopes to be back at the KWPD soon. They gave us a great tour of Mt. Dora, what a cute town. You should Google it. Yesterday we went to the 57th Annual Florida Folk Festival in White Springs, FL. One of our favorite performers at the Green Parrot was there. Ben Prestage is from central FL and is a one man band. He plays electric, acoustic guitar, diddley-bow and drums. And mostly writes his own songs. We listened to some other great performers. A group called Still Friends, Doyle Dykes and Spanky McFarlane of Spanky and Our Gang. You can find Ben on You Tube.
Working our the kinks with the Rv and getting used to going 60 miles a hour. Top speed in KW is 30. Going to try to download a picture of KA, Sally Jack and I in front of Kermit's Key Lime Shoppe in Mt. Dora. Next stop is Nashville! Love Gail
